The Plight to save Honor ![]() THIS IS HONOR'S STORY Honor ![]() Honor needs your help Honor was reported as an illegal landing. Which basically means that somebody has brought her into this country with no paperwork, no proper vaccinations and no ownership. Her story started on Tuesday 17th August 2010, when she was seen with a foreign lorry driver that had parked up in a local garage. The driver stayed at the garage until Thursday 19th August 2010 and then carried on with his travels, but he DID NOT take Honor along. She was reported to the Trading Standards offices (as they deal with illegal landings) and we also went to see if we could help. Honor was scared, hungry, thirsty and very tired, but she did not want to be rescued. We tried on the Friday, the Saturday, the Sunday and by Monday she was avoiding us like the plague. We had to resort to a humane trap with a nice great big juicy bone inside. This proved to much temptation for a hungry girl and by Tuesday 24th August 2010 a week after the 1st sighting, she gave up and was at last safe. Now you would think that was the end - but nothing is ever simple in this life. Due to the very strict procedures a specialist company that have double lined vans for safety had to be called. They had to travel from Warwickshire, so there sitting in a lorry carpark was three trading standards officers, me and of course Honor, patiently waiting for special assistance. A few hours later Honor was transferred to the special van and transported to the quarantine kennels. She then had a full health check from a vet and was found to be running a very high temperature. She was treated for this, then she had to have a rabies vaccine, be wormed, be deflead and also start the routine vaccination course. After all the she had been through this was the last thing she needed. She is also having to have daily treatment to her eyes as she has Entropia (this is were the eyelashes grow inwardly). Once she has completed her quarantine she will need an operation to both eyes to correct this problem. This poor little girl really needs our help - its not her fault that she came into this Country - she didnt ask to come, she was just brought along. Now that she is here I feel that we need to raise the money to save her. The truth is that if we dont raise it then she will be put to sleep and that is definately NOT going to happen. We need every penny we can raise to save this lovely, adorable little girl. ROLL ON THE 17TH FEBRUARY 2011 - THE DATE HONOR COMES HOME. |
