Libby's Page Libby ![]() A very special girl Libby came to the kennels as a stray. She was cold, starving, exhausted and in need of urgent veterinary treatment. After a short stay at the vets, Libby came back to the kennels and is now awaiting a major operation to remove numerous tumours. She has now put on weight and is ready for her operation, which is planned for the next couple of days. This will involve the several tumours and mammary glands being removed. She will also be spayed at the same time to help prevent these tumours returning. This is a major operation and Libby will be in recovery for several weeks. With love, care and cuddles Libby is expected to make a full recovery. Libby has had two operations to remove the mammary tumours and been spayed. She was an excellent patient and didn't grumble too much. Unfortunately she has had to revisit the vet today (01.04.09) as her stitches had not held. I have to say that she is not such a good patient at the moment, but who can blame her. She will be kept quiet for the next 4/5 days (under strict orders from the vet) and we are hoping that her difficult time will pass. So at the moment still not ready for rehoming, but since she has gained a really special place in our hearts she is more than welcome to stay a bit longer. 02.04.09 - Ok we seem to be a bit more sociable today, but still a bit cross that we can only go for a short walk. She still has her little hat on, which again she is not impressed about, but the dental stick seems to occupy her (for about 1 minute). We have done some massaging today as her back legs had swollen up slightly, but she loved it. Her head was on one side and she made little sounds of pleasure. She is all tuck up in bed - so sleep well little Libby and tomorrow you will feel even better. |
